Lake Tahoe House

This new two-story private residence is located on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe at an elevation of about 6,235 feet. The steel- and wood-framed structure is designed to support up to 300 PSF snow load. The steel-braced frames are implemented in such a way to optimize views of the lake while supporting the seismic forces of the Zone 3. Heavy timber roof framing and a wood deck incorporate elements of the natural environment that surrounds the home, and create the character that the residents were seeking.
